Yield: 2 People

  • 2 pieces of Salmon Fillet
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 2.5 tbsp of Flour
  • 3.5 tbsp of Soy Sauce
  • 2.5 tbsp of Sake optional
  • 3 tbsp of Mirin or honey
  • 1 tbsp of Sugar
  • 1 tsp of Dashi Powder

  • Pat the salmon dry and season with salt and pepper. Dust 2.5 tbsp of flour all over the salmon, and shake off any excess flour.
  • Mix soy sauce, sake, mirin, sugar, and dashi powder.
  • In a pan, add in oil, turn the heat to medium-high.
  • Once the pan is hot, place the salmon and the skin side facing down. Pan-fry the salmon for 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove and set aside.
  • Using the same pan, drizzle in the sauce, and simmer for 1 minute.
  • Add the salmon skin-side down and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes. Drizzle the sauce over the salmon.

QUICK TIP: Use the same pan to saute the vegetables with any remaining sauce. Vegetables that pair well with the sauce are broccoli, bok choy, spinach, mushroom, and cauliflower.
