If you’re craving something cozy, spicy, and packed with flavor, this Spicy Garlic Tofu with Ground Pork is the perfect easy dinner. It’s my take on a weeknight-friendly Mapo Tofu alternative. It’s still bold and saucy, but made with Everyday Garlic Oil, Four Season Scallion Sauce, vegetarian oyster sauce, and Mama’s Chili Oil instead of traditional doubanjiang and Sichuan peppercorns. The meat sauce clings to the tofu thanks to a quick cornstarch slurry, and every bite is rich, comforting, and totally addictive. It’s one of my go-to high protein, one pot tofu recipes when I want something fast but flavorful.
Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Add 400 g ground pork and sauté for 5–6 minutes, or until browned and fully cooked.
Stir in 1 tbsp Everyday Garlic Oil, 3 tbsp Four Season Scallion Sauce, 1.5 tbsp Mama’s Chili Oil, and 1.5 tbsp vegetarian oyster sauce. Mix well to coat the meat evenly, then sauté for another 2–3 minutes to deepen the flavor.
Gently fold in the 1 Block Tofu (cubed) and mix to combine. Try not to break up the tofu too much.
Pour in 1 cup chicken stock , bring to a gentle simmer, and let everything cook together for 5 minutes so the tofu soaks up all that flavor.
Mix together 1 tbsp cornstarch and 2 tbsp water for a cornstarch slurry.
Stir in your cornstarch slurry and cook for another 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens to a silky consistency.
Serve hot over steamed rice, and top with extra chili oil, Red Chili, or Green Onions if you’re feeling fancy.
