If you are looking for a delicious recipe to warm you up this winter, you need to try my ginger milk tea boba. Ginger Milk Tea Boba is an easy one-pot recipe that helps with blood circulation, and it’s super delicious. Made with ginger, red sugar, and Chinese red dates, this easy-to-make ginger tea is mixed with sago and milk for a yummy milk tea that also gives you a boost.
In a pot, add loose-leaf black tea, ginger, red sugar, and Chinese red dates. Turn the heat to medium, and pan-fry for 3-4 minutes or until the brown sugar has become slightly smokey.
Pour in 6 cups of water and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 20 minutes on medium-low heat, and strain all the ingredients.
Bring the pot back to a simmer, and once simmering, add in ¾ cup of sago. Stir and keep cooking for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, stir to ensure nothing is sticking to the bottom, and turn the heat off. Put the lid on and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Pour in milk or tea, and enjoy!

Notes
If lactose intolerant, you can make Ginger Milk Tea with just the tea bag or swap it with soy or oat milk. I personally love using 2% milk as I find that it provides the perfect amount of creaminess and richness. The only plant-based milk I wouldn’t recommend for this ginger milk tea is coconut milk. I find that coconut milk leaves a thick residue at the top of your month when combined with ginger.
