You don't have to go to Japan to have their Japanese Fruit Sando with homemade whipped cream! Made of the fluffiest Japanese Milk Bread, this fruit sando is filled with homemade whipped cream and juicy strawberries. With each bite, you get sweet whipped cream and fresh, juicy fruit. It's a perfect spring fruit dessert for a sunny day picnic!
Wash strawberries, and by cutting off the tops. Dry all sides with a paper towel.
Combine heavy cream and sugar in a large mixing bowl.
With a Handheld Milk Frother, whip the cream for about 3-5 minutes or until peaks form.
Cut the edges off of the milk bread slices.
Layer some whipped cream on one slice of bread.
Add a layer of whole strawberries on top.
Add more whipped cream until it covers the strawberries.
Put the second piece of milk bread on top.
Wrap the sandwich in plastic wrap and let it set in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Cut the sandwich diagonally to get the cross sections.
Notes
You can use any other fruits in your fruit sandwich - as long as you prep it the same way. If you want to make a design, make sure to lay them out so when you cut them diagonally, it gives you that perfect cross section.
