Sweet and Sour Mushroom

My dad's favorite Sweet and Sour Mushroom recipe, one of my grandma's BEST recipes. Perfect for packing a lunch to-go, or as an appetizer for dinner!
Ingredients
- 1 pound cremini or button mushrooms
- 5 cloves garlic minced
Sweet & Sour sauce
- 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1.5 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1.5 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 pinch Black Pepper
- ¼ cup cold water
- 1 tbsp cornstarch optional
Garnish
- Green onion
- sesame seeds
Instructions
- Mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, ketchup, sugar, black pepper, and water. Optional add in corn starch if you want a thicker sauce. Make sure to mix well2 tbsp Soy Sauce, 1.5 tbsp rice vinegar, 1.5 tbsp ketchup, 1 tbsp Sugar, 1 pinch Black Pepper, ¼ cup cold water, 1 tbsp cornstarch
- In a pan, turn the heat to medium-high and add in oil, and once the pan is hot, add in mushrooms and garlic.5 cloves garlic, 1 pound cremini or button mushrooms
- Saute for 4-5 minutes or until slightly golden brown.
- Pour in the sauce, mix well, cover and let it cook for 2-3 minutes or until the sauce has reduced to thicken.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, and enjoy!Green onion, sesame seeds
