Perfect Way To Add Veggies for Meat Lovers

Inspired by my recent Tokyo trip, this Soy Glazed Beef Wrapped Asparagus recipe is SO savory and delicious, and a great way to sneak in some veggies. It’s great as an appetizer, quick and easy dinner, or a packed lunch! Dom doesn’t enjoy asparagus no matter what dish they’re in…but this one? He REQUESTS it for his lunchbox ALL THE TIME! I sometimes make extra portions for dinner, and pack the rest for lunch the next day. So few ingredients – yet OH SO GOOD!

For a VEGETARIAN option, you can wrap the asparagus in softened tofu skin or a whole cabbage leaf, and cook them in the sauce. Of course, you can replace the oyster sauce and dashi power with vegetarian alternatives as well.

Beef Wrapped Asparagus Ingredients

  1. This is very similar to Japanese Negimaki but instead of asparagus the beef is rolled around scallions and then chopped into rolls with a very tasty special sauce poured over it. I use to eat it a lot in Japanese restaurants on the East Coast. I’ve never seen it on the West Coast unfortunately and that is where I live. The server would bring it out sizzling and everyone would turn their heads and ask “What are you eating” The aroma was intoxicating.
