Restocking My Asian Beauty Must-Haves In Taiwan

I’m back from my trip to Taiwan, and I’ve brought back TONS of Asian beauty must-haves that I always restock when I go back to Asia! A lot of these beauty products are actually Japanese products I’ve tested my first two trips to Japan. I’ve loved them so much, some of them are now my holy grails, from face masks to eyeliners! Kose Japan Sorry Bare Skin Sheet Mask

My favorite things to get in Asia – sheet masks. These Kose Japan Sorry Bare Skin Sheet Mask are my holy grail. I tried MORE THAN 20 different brands for my first trip because I wanted to try a little bit of everything. I’ve narrowed it down, and these are one of my favorites!

With Sorry Bare Skin better than sleeping sheet masks, you get benefits of 8 hours of sleep from 8 minutes of application. The pink one is a hydrating one that I find works so well keeping my skin hydrated throughout the winter. I find that this one really soothes my really really dry sensitive skin when I’m traveling. I use it in the morning to help de-puff my whole face by keeping them in the fridge.

The yellow face mask is actually targeted towards break outs. When I’m not sleeping well, my skin can develop spots, acne, or redness. That’s when I use this yellow one. It reduces my inflammation and keeps everything calm!

Ishizawa Lab Keana Nadeshiko Rice Mask

The Keana Rice Mask is another classic Japanese sheet best-seller mask, I find that they’re really affordable and really hydrating. If you like rice sheet mask, which is really good for lightening the skin, hydrating, and exfoliating. It doesn’t have a very strong fragrance, so it’s perfect for someone who’s sensitive to smells.

This is my favorite brand, and I buy this whenever I’m in either Taiwan or Japan. This sheet mask is part of a Keana Nadeshiko series – with other products from face wash to essences for those with dry, sensitive skin.

Kose Sekkisei Essence Lotion and Face Wash

Sekkisei is an iconic Japanese brand that I discovered last time. They’re a long time Japanese skincare OG brand focusing on gentle herbal remedies that brightens and evens out skin tone. The Sekkisei Brightening Essence Lotion is a little bit more expensive but a little bit does go a long way. This one bottle lasts me FOREVER!　

I definitely highly recommend the face wash as well. I have used many different face wash in Sephora and I find that this one is my personal favorite. It is very gentle but it’s still able to get into your pores and really clean out your skin. It’s also quite affordable, so I have been loving loving loving this face wash!

Sekkisei is widely available at Japanese and Taiwanese drug stores, convenient stores, and beauty stores. Most department stores also have its own Sekkisei counter, so you can get more in-depth answers about each product.

Clé de Peau Daily Emolution Care Set

If there’s one brand that I splurge on and I swear by, it’s Clé de Peau. I just got their airport only special: Clé de Peau Daily Emulsion Care Set, which come with a lotion, a day emulsion, and night emulsion. They just feel so luxurious! I don’t use these every single day; I actually use the two emulsions once every 2 to 3 days to make it last.

With the airport package you save around $250 by getting it in Japan or Taiwan, which is a huge. Plus, I believe you may save even more if you get tourist tax refunds before leaving the country.

Clé de Peau Corrective Cream Veil

Another item that I love from CDP is their Corrective Cream Veil. This one really is hydrating – It smooths and really brightens your skin. It’s perfect for daily use and great for someone like me who’s filming or in front of camera often, without feeling heavy.

I like to get these in Japan or in Asia because I find that the formula is a little bit different. The Asia version has SPF 25 rather than 20, and has a silkier and lighter texture in my opinion.

D-up Silky Liquid Eyeliner

I always have a cat eye, so I always get asked what eyeliner I use. The answer? it’s D-up Silky Liquid Eyeliner. D-up eyeliners are the best eyeliner I’ve tried – it’s affordable, waterproof, smudge proof, and very long lasting. I just find that it’s a really smooth black liquid liner with a 0.1 mm tip for a perfectly precise flick. I’ve been using them for years! I always stock up every time I go back to Taiwan, or if I go to Japan.

Kiss Me Mascara

Another holy grail item of mine is the Kiss Me Mascara, which were going viral in TikTok. I’ve been using them for years – they are perfect for stubborn Asian lashes like the ones I have. My favorite is the long and curl mascara advanced. It is super super SUPER waterproof so it’s a little bit hard to remove, but it is worth it!

It can be pretty pricey if you get it in North America around $30 to $35, but if you get it in Asia it is half the price. I always stock up if I see them in Taiwan or Japan.

Maybelline Sky High Mascara

Maybelline Sky High Mascara is going viral everywhere, but I swear the Asian formula is a little bit different. Maybe it’s targeted towards more Asian lashes, but I really like this one for volume AND length. I get the waterproof formula and it does last 24 hours, no smudges, no little residues around your eye. I’m sure the ones here are also amazing as well, but these are so good if you get them in Taiwan.

My normal mascara routine is the kiss me lashes first for length, and then topped off with the Maybelline Sky High mascara for a little bit more volume and a little bit more length on top.

Tirtir Mask Fit Red Cushion Foundation

Normally there’s only one foundation that I use and I swear by – the It Cosmetics better than your skin Foundation. This time when I was in Japan, I saw that they really like cushion foundations. This one is Mask Fit Red Cushion Foundation, actually from a Korean brand called Tirtir, but it’s been going viral!

It is long lasting and has 72 hours coverage. It literally will stay on your face! I tested it on the flight home – it survived my tossing and turning and was still perfect on my face throughout the whole flight!
