EXTRA CRISPY chicken coated in a spicy, sweet, savoury garlic sauce, my first ever viral recipe is a forever classic dish!
If you never tried my Spicy Honey Garlic Chicken recipe, you are missing out, there is a reason why it is my most popular recipe.
A year later, and I made a few changes to ensure the crispy is EXTRA crispy, give this recipe a try, I promise you will love it.
The secret homemade sauce is what makes this Spicy Honey Garlic Chicken super addicting.
The sweetness of the honey makes a perfect glaze to balance out the saltiness of the soy sauce, and adding some Korean Chilli Paste gives the dish the perfect kick!
If you are serving it to kids, you can replace the Korean chili paste with 2 tbsp of ketchup and 1 tbsp of soy sauce for a sweet and tangy garlic glaze instead.
A year and a few revisions later, I have now found a secret tip to ensure the chicken is EXTRA CRISPY for my Spicy Honey Garlic Chicken.
This is my go-to method now for all my fried chicken recipes.
My secret tip is SODA WATER and RICE FLOUR. This combination guarantees the chicken to be crisp and light at the same time.
A batter is also less messy compared to coating; therefore, the oil stays clean, making it easier to reuse in the future.
