Taiwanese Beef Shacha Fried Rice (20 Minutes)

Taiwanese Beef Shacha Fried Rice

Easy and delicious 20 Minute Taiwanese Beef Shacha Fried Rice perfect for any weeknight dinner!

Fried Rice is the ultimate comfort food that takes less than 20 minutes to make. There are so many variations, and you can customize it base on whatever is in your fridge. My Taiwanese Beef Shacha Fried Rice is savory, beefy, umami, and super addicting. It is topped with a perfectly fried sunny side egg to complete the dish!

Beef Shacha Fried Rice

You can find Beef Shacha Fried Rice at many street vendors in Taiwan. I will give you a warning if you never tried or smelled shacha before; it is STRONG.

I remember my first time smelling satay for the first time in grade one; I was so overwhelmed by the spices I couldn’t even stay in the restaurants. However, some of the most “pungent” smelling foods are the best and most flavourful foods out there! After giving it a try, I am now obsessed, and it is one of my favorite condiments to have with beef.

Taiwanese Beef Shacha Fried Rice

My favorite brand of Shacha sauce and the ONLY brand that I use is the one from Bull Head.

You can find it at most Asian Supermarkets, and I also linked it on my website. Shacha sauce is the perfect condiment for hot pot and stirfries as it compliments beef well. Shacha is known as the “Chinese BBQ Sauce” in western culture and is packed with a range of spices and dried seafood, giving it is umami and savory flavors.

Beef Fried Rice

The key to perfect fried rice is using COLD, DAY OLD Rice. Please don’t use fresh rice as it will turn mushy.

Before frying, I like to break the rice apart with my hands; that way, it cuts down the cooking time, and each grain will get coated in the sauce. For those that are lazy, order take out rice for $1 and fry up Taiwanese Beef Shacha Fried Rice the next day!

Beef Shacha Fried Rice

Ingredients

1-1.5 lb of Thinly Sliced Beef

1 cup of Corns, Peas, and Carrots

3 cups of Cooked Rice

½ Onion chopped

3 cloves of Garlic minced

½ tbsp of Black Pepper

1 tbsp of Chili Oil (optional)

  2. Add in minced garlic and thinly sliced beef and saute together for another 2-3minutes.
  3. Next, add in frozen corn, peas, and carrots and saute. for 1-2 minutes
  4. Finally, add in rice and pour on the sauce. Saute on high heat for 2-3 minutes or until every grain of rice is coated in the sauce.

About Me
Hi! I am Tiffy and I am a HUGE foodie. I love to cook, I love to eat, and I love sharing what I love with the world.
I was born in Taiwan, a country with some of the best street food in the world. When I think back to my childhood, I remember all the fantastic restaurants my dad brought me to when I was young. You see, my family is also huge foodies; we use to wander around night markets every weekend, skip the last period in class to try out new restaurants, and every summer, we would travel around Taiwan exploring all the new “must try” dishes around the country.
