Revisiting Our Wedding Hotel: Regent Taipei
Regent Taipei is my favorite hotel in Taiwan. Dom and I got married here, and his parents also got married here 30 years ago. So this hotel is very special to our whole family. Every time I come to Taipei, I stay here! Regent Taipei not only has some of the most comfortable and luxurious rooms, but also some of the top restaurants in town.
Today, I’m with my mom, and for the two of us we booked 1 Deluxe Room, and 1 King Corner Suite, so we can experience the rooms and amenities here at different price ranges. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay because they really focus on your experience and comfort. I love that there are so many good food options without even leaving the building. I’d definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a luxury stay while in Taipei!
Deluxe Room
Newly renovated and beautifully designed, the Deluxe Room felt modern, comfortable, and very functional. It is a great option for couples, with lots of storage space and a lovely view of Taipei 101 right outside of our window. It has a King size bed, a work desk, and a living-room area that’s great from sipping on some coffee or tea and enjoying the view.
When we walked into the room, there was a welcome package from the hotel that included fresh fruit, desserts, and sparkling tea. One detail I really appreciated about the room itself was the filtered water system in the room, which made the stay feel even more convenient.
1 King Bed Corner Suite Room Tour
Of course, the highlight of our stay is the King Bed Corner Suite, which is basically a one-bedroom apartment. This suite is incredibly spacious and comes with a living room, dining room, bar area, walk-in closet, and a main washroom with double sinks, bathtub, and shower, plus a separate guest powder room. It was actually the room we stayed in when we got married. It feels very luxurious while still being warm and welcoming. Since we booked through Amex Travel, Tai Pan lounge access was included with our room.
Living Room Area
The living area is incredibly spacious, with tons of seating. Whether you enjoy relaxing on the couch, or setting up your laptop on the working table, every seat has a floor-to-ceiling view of Taipei’s cityscapes. It was spacious enough during our wedding to invite guests and photographers in comfortably for photos. You can hold a meeting without having your guests feeling like they’re invading your privacy at all!
Kitchen and Dining Area
The kitchen and dining area was also spacious, with a 6-person dining table set. The kitchen has plenty of area for mixing drinks, cutting fruit, or anything you need. The fridge was fully stocked with different drinks. Plus, there’s coffee and tea in the kitchen cabinet whenever you need a pick-me-up.
Corner Bedroom
The King Bed Corner Suite has the iconic corner bedroom with the perfect view of the city all around. The king bed is super comfy! There’s a lot of space to put your luggage in the bedroom. But, inside the bedroom area, there’s a massive walk-in closet, complete with a full size mirror, drawers, plenty of hanging space, and a safe. There’s no worry about spacing no matter how much luggage you have.
WashRoom
The suite has a beautiful marble bathroom with a shower and bathtub. The lighting in here is amazing for getting ready! Amenities include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, loofa, hand soap, lotion, blow dyer, slippers, and Japanese bidet! They are the same ones from Wellspring Spa, so you’ll get spa-quality products in your own bathroom.

Tai Pan Lounge
A unique perk of our stay is the Tai Pan Lounge, a 24 hour lounge with complimentary refreshments. To access the Tai Pan Lounge at Regent Taipei, you need to book a Tai Pan room or another executive-floor room category. We booked through Amex Travel and lounge access was included.The lounge itself is very spacious, quiet, and relaxing, with beautiful city views including Taipei 101. The lounge amenities includes:
- 24-hour access
- Breakfast
- All-day coffee, tea, and snacks
- Butler-style privileges
- 20% off lounge day service during your stay
- 10% off spa and massage treatments at Wellspring Spa from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Separate check-in and check-out area located on the top floor
It is a really lovely space if you want something more private with plenty of food options throughout the day. There was always so much food available throughout the day, which made the experience feel extra special. Offerings included:
- Private buffet breakfast: 6:30 AM – 10:00 AM
- Individually plated hors d’oeuvres tea set: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
- Cocktails and live-cooking noodle station: 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM
- Wine and nuts pairing set: 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Wellspring Spa
The Wellspring Spa was such a luxurious experience. After so many hours in the plane, we needed something to relax our tense muscles. Not to mention, our room amenities include 10% off spa and massage treatments at Wellspring Spa from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM. So, we booked traveler’s perk massage (1.5hr /NT$4,800), which was designed for jet lag recovery using ancient Indonesian techniques to help reduce mental stress and physical tension.
What made the experience extra special was that you get access to your own private room before and after the treatment. You can first enjoy the steam shower, sauna, and rinse off, then begin with a foot bath, choose your own oils for the treatment, and enjoy the massage of your choice. Afterward, you can continue to relax in the room, use the amenities again, and freshen up before leaving. It felt like a very elevated and thoughtful spa experience
The private rooms are beautiful! While the massage itself was on the lighter side, it still felt very professional, relaxing, and well done. Truly one of those experiences that makes you not want to leave, and I already know that I’m definitely going to be back.
Restaurants and Cafes
Even inside the hotel, there’s a ton of delicious restaurant options to choose from. Don’t underestimate them as tourist traps, because some of these restaurants are actually run by top chefs in Taipei. There’s a few Michelin-recommended and award winning options to try! Brasserie
Located on the ground floor, Brasserie is one of the top buffets in Taipei, with so many different food options, it might literally have everything.
Compared to breakfast at the Tai Pan Lounge, I personally still preferred the main Brasserie buffet, simply because it had everything. It is definitely worth waking up for, especially if you are traveling with family. If your room rate includes breakfast, I think it is absolutely worth it.

Azie Grand Cafe
Azie Grand Cafe, located on the ground floor, is a modern Taiwanese fusion cafe with light meals like salads, pasta, and sandwiches. But, they’re most famous for the Champion Beef Noodle Soup (680 NTD), recognized by CNN as the one of the best beef noodles in Taipei.
Pro tip, if you’re staying at the hotel, you can also order this for late night room service!
Silks House
Located on the third floor of Regent Taipei, Silks House is known for its refined Cantonese cuisine. The chef here has over 30 years of Cantonese cooking under his belt! I’m not kidding, this was one of the BEST Cantonese meals of my life! I would very, very highly recommend it. Everything we had was delicious, the setting felt elegant, and the overall experience was just amazing.
Viral Cafe Pop-up Events
Regent Taipei always has an ever-changing rotation of pop up shop collaborations with different cafes internationally. While I was staying there, I got to try the Strawberry Parfait of my dreams from their collaboration with Korean cake shop Kitchen 205. Serve in a clear glass, it has layers of fresh strawberries, fresh whipped cream, sponge cake, granola, strawberry jam, and yogurt.
Right now, they have a collaboration with Teddy Beurre House, created in Seoul by Kim Hun from Culinary Class Wars Season 2.
Where is Regent Taipei Located
Regent Taipei is in the Zhongshan district of Taipei City, about an hour away from Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). By MRT, it’s only a 15 minute away from tourist hotspots like Taipei 101, Ximending, and Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall
The hotel is located right on 赤峰街 Chi-Feng Road, a historic street full of the best restaurants and shopping, from cookware to stationary. For us, the location is 10/10, which is why we always stay here.
