Hot Mochi (3 Ingredients, 10 Minutes!)

hot mochi

Have you ever tried hot mochi? Chewy, soft, and super delicious hot mochi only require three simple ingredients to make at home.

Hot mochi is a viral dessert in Asia during the winter because it will warm you up! The best part about hot mochi? It is gluten-free and takes less than 10 minutes to prepare.

milk and sugar

All you need is three simple ingredients to make hot mochi. Milk, tapioca starch, and sugar.

You can adjust the amount of sugar based on the sweetness you prefer. Make sure to mix the tapioca starch and sugar thoroughly before cooking on the heat to ensure the mochi is extra smooth!

hot dessert

Once the mixture is on heat, keep stirring.

It will become thicker and thicker, and once you can “pull” and “stretch” the mochi, the hot mochi is ready.

You can test it by taking a tablespoon of the mochi and resting it on the ginger syrup to see if it keeps its shape.

You can customize hot mochi with any toppings of your choice.

My personal favorites are homemade mochi, taro balls, and yam balls. All these toppings are also gluten-free, and you can make them at home in bulk or freeze them; they are always ready to go!

Brown Sugar Boba (3 Ingredients ONLY!)

Chewy, sweet, addicting Brown Sugar Boba is an easy recipe that only requires a few simple ingredients. I used to make these with my mom as a kid as a fun weekend activity; something about homemade boba is super satisfying! Make these Brown Sugar Boba in bulk and freeze them for up to 1 month!

Ingredients

  • 160g Tapioca Starch
  • 60g Brown Sugar
  • 80ml of Water
FULL RECIPE

Taro and Sweet Potato Balls (4 Ingredients Only!)

My mom’s EASY childhood recipe on authentic Taro and Sweet Potato Balls requires FOUR Ingredients ONLY! Chewy, sweet, refreshing Taro and Sweet Potato Balls are the PERFECT easy summer dessert that you need to try!

Taro and Sweet Potato Balls are popular night market desserts with endless ways to enjoy them, whether it is on top of shaved ice, grass jelly dessert, or paired with red bean soup.

Ingredients

400 g of Yam or Sweet Potato or Purple Yam or Taro

200 g of Tapioca Starch or Sweet Potato Flour

About Me
Hi! I am Tiffy and I am a HUGE foodie. I love to cook, I love to eat, and I love sharing what I love with the world.
I was born in Taiwan, a country with some of the best street food in the world. When I think back to my childhood, I remember all the fantastic restaurants my dad brought me to when I was young. You see, my family is also huge foodies; we use to wander around night markets every weekend, skip the last period in class to try out new restaurants, and every summer, we would travel around Taiwan exploring all the new “must try” dishes around the country.
