Do you ever wonder why Chinese restaurants always serve the BEST vegetables?
Showing you how to make EASY, HEALTHY, and super DELICIOUS Restaurant Style Bok Choy with Garlic Sauce that will get you licking the bowl afterward!
All you need with FIVE simple ingredients to make this delicious Garlic Sauce that I promise will taste good on everything. Also, the best part is, this Bok Choy with Garlic Sauce only takes 10 minutes to make at home!
My wedding is JUST around the corner, and I’ve been making my Bok Choy with Garlic Sauce every single day for the past few weeks.
I will be honest; I am not a big vegetable person. Growing up, I never liked vegetables; I’ve always been a carb lover. HOWEVER, every time my parents bring me to a Chinese restaurant and order vegetables, I always LOVED it. After a few tries, I now have the perfect sauce that tastes good with everything!
The key to keeping your Bok Choy nice and green is to add a little bit of oil in the water before blanching.
This simple step not only keeps the Bok Choy soft but also preserves all the color as well. My mom taught me this secret tip, and now I never blanch my greens without adding a drizzle of oil. I like my Bok Choy soft but still slightly crunchy.
The superstar in my Restaurant Style Bok Choy with Garlic Sauce is the SECRET SAUCE.
All you need is FIVE simple ingredients, garlic, vegetarian oyster sauce, soy sauce, a pinch of sugar, and sesame oil. If you are not allergic to shellfish, you can also use regular oyster sauce as well.
I tend to use the vegetarian oyster sauce for any vegetable dishes or as a dipping sauce, and I like to use the oyster sauce to marinate meat.

Let’s make this into a MEAL! Here are some of my favorite recipes that pair well with Bok Choy with Garlic Sauce:
- 3 Cup Chicken Noodle Stir-Fry (20 Minutes ONLY!)
- Miso-Glazed Salmon (Air Fryer Recipe)
- Restaurant Styled 20 Minutes Chinese Eggplant with Garlic Sauce
- Vietnamese Inspired Chicken Wings (Healthy & CRISPY)
Ingredients
- 2 lb of Bok Choy
- 1 tbsp of Oil

Garlic Sauce
- 6-8 cloves of Garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp of Sesame Oil
- 3 tbsp of Vegetarian Oyster Sauce
- 2 tbsp of Soy Sauce

- Add in minced garlic, vegetarian oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil in a pan. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes, or until the sugar has melted.
- Drizzle the sauce over the bok choy and enjoy!
