Fall Seasonal Brown Sugar Cinnamon Hojicha Latte

I’ve been drinking this Brown Sugar Cinnamon Hojicha Latte nonstop this fall season! This week, I cooked a ton of cozy fall comfort food recipes since the weather has been so gloomy, but this drink definitely made the morning easier. Creamy, toasty, and cozily spiced, this milk tea might be the perfect fall morning drink. It only takes 10 minutes of your day! This is my top choice for coffee alternatives right now.

Cinnamon Brown Sugar Hojicha Latte Ingredients

Cinnamon Hojicha Latte

  • 2 tsp hojicha powder with a pinch of cinnamon
  • 60 ml hot water ~¼ cup
  • 120 ml oat milk or milk of choice ~ ½ cup
  • Ice

Brown Sugar Cinnamin Cold Foam

  • 30 ml heavy cream or half & half ~ 2 tbsp
  • 15 ml brown sugar about 1 tbsp, packed
  • 1 ml Cinnamon about ¼ tsp
  • 15-30 ml oat milk or milk of choice, to loosen 1–2 tbsp

Cinnamon Hojicha Latte

Hojicha is a roasted green tea that has a soft toasted flavor that is much earthier than matcha. It has a much lower caffeine count than coffee and matcha. But, for people who still need a morning pick-me-up, it is a gentle alternative. I whisk the hojicha just like I would with matcha before adding it to oat milk. For this drink, I like to add just a little pinch of cinnamon into the hojicha powder before whisking. It adds so much more of the cinnamon warmth into the drink!

Brown Sugar Cinnamon Cold Foam

The key to making a daily Hojicha latte more fun is adding in your own syrups and toppings, like this brown sugar cinnamon cold foam! This creamy foam topping adds a spicy warmth to my daily morning drink. It definitely reminds me of the fall season!

All it takes is 4 simple ingredients: cinnamon, brown sugar, heavy cream, and a splash of milk. Whipping it to a super foamy texture is easy thanks to my Handheld Milk Frother. In only a few extra minutes you can make your coffee or tea taste like something from a cafe!

Hojicha Boba Milk tea

This hojicha latte is also a perfect drink for an afternoon boba milk tea break. The cold foam on top is just like the crema or cheese at boba tea shops, but much much lighter. To make it more like boba, you can try adding some brown sugar boba into your latte. This double brown sugar flavor will taste just like Taiwan’s brown sugar milk tea!
