Don’t get mad at me … but this garlic-fried mushroom recipe might taste better than fried chicken!
Inspired by my viral Garlic Fried Chicken recipe, this Garlic Fried Mushroom recipe is GLUTEN-FREE and super easy to make at home!
Super crispy on the outside, juicy and flavourful on the inside. You need to give this recipe a try!

When I posted my Garlic Fried Chicken recipe, I had many requests to recreate a vegetarian version, and this garlic fried mushroom recipe is seriously it!
Crispy, juicy, savory garlic fried mushroom is finger-licking good, AND it’s gluten-free.
If you love fried mushroom recipes, you also need to try my CRISPY Taiwanese Popcorn Mushroom.
Taiwanese Popcorn Mushroom is Gluten-free, vegetarian-friendly, and INSANELY delicious (this is coming from a meat lover too!)

After deep frying Oyster Mushroom, Enoki Mushroom, Shiitake Mushroom, King Oyster Mushroom, and Shemiji Mushroom, I can confirm the winner for Galir Fried Mushroom is for sure Oyster Mushroom.
It has the most “meat-like” texture, and after marinating the mushroom, it becomes super juicy when deep-fried.
Tear the oyster mushroom into your desired size. The more “tears” the mushroom has, the crispier the mushroom becomes.

My secret is to CRISPY while LIGHT Garlic Fried Mushroom is to use the combination of rice flour and corn starch.
Taiwanese Fried Chicken is known for its light and crispiness.
All you need to make the batter is rice flour, corn starch, egg, and COLD soda water.
The cold soda water is the secret to making the batter light yet super crispy.
