Cleaning Kitty Litter Smarter with Litter-Robot 4

So, I have always been a big fan of Litter-Robot’s self cleaning litter box. Since our last one broke during our move, we’ve been considering an upgrade. I finally got the newest Litter-Robot 4 for Panther and Storm, so let’s walk through it together.

Trying The All New Litter-Robot 4

Litter-Robot is an automatic, self-cleaning litter box. It quietly provides a fresh bed of litter after every use, reduces odors, and tracks litter! I’ve owned two Litter-Robot 3s in the past. One is at my parents’ place, and the other one unfortunately broke while we were moving to our new house. This was the perfect opportunity for me to try the newer Litter-Robot 4. Let me tell you, this is a GAME CHANGER!

Shipping and Unboxing Litter-Robot 4

Between the black and white options for Litter-Robot 4, I chose the black one. The shipping was actually pretty fast, getting to me in three business days here in Canada. The packaging was impressive, given the size of the product.

The unboxing process was smooth – it wasn’t too heavy or difficult to remove from the box. The instruction manual and power supply were conveniently placed right at the top. The Litter-Robot 4 was well-protected by packaging inside. The mat I ordered was also included in the same box, which was a nice touch.

What’s New with Litter-Robot 4

Quiet Automatic Operation

In terms of differences between version 3 and 4, the first thing I noticed was the noise. The Litter-Robot 4 is so quiet compared to its predecessor. It’s near silent in comparison and the rotation feels much smoother.

Advanced Safety Sensors

It’s also safer for the cats because it has advanced motion sensing safety sensors. These sensors detects your cat the moment they poke their head into the entryway. It is safer compared to the previous version, which relied on weight-based sensors.

This added layer of protection gives me peace of mind that the Litter-Robot isn’t turning while my cats are inside!

No Extra Work

Another advantage is that you no longer need to do the mid-week shake to even out waste in the drawer. The basket was redesigned to prevents uneven waste accumulation on one side, a common issue with the Litter-Robot 3.

Now, I get notified when the bin is actually full, and I don’t have to do anything extra.

Easy Bag Management

Bag management is also easier with the Litter-Robot 4.

Simply roll the bag over the edges of the waste drawer. There’s no mess or frustration. The design is seamless and easy. Changing the bags is now a breeze!

Litter-Robot Litter Trap Mat

I also bought a LitterTrap Mat to pair with my unit, which I highly recommend. It fits the litter box and does an amazing job at litter-catching. It keep your floors cleaner by reducing litter tracking. It’s been a huge difference. We’ve purchased similar types of mats on Amazon before, but they were often too small to really be effective. Having one that’s the perfectly fits the Litter-Robot is so worth the money.

A Smarter Litter Box with the Whisker App

Last but not least, my absolute favorite thing about the Litter-Robot 4 is the Whisker app. The unit is easy to connect to wifi and the app, making it super easy to monitor from anywhere! Create profiles for individual cats to track their activity. It’s so cool that the app automatically differentiate between the cats using its sensors. You’ll eventually be able to track each cats’ activity, history, and weight, along with anything to monitor.

Scoops Saved Tracker

It has a new “Scoops Saved Tracker” feature, which helps you count the number of litter scoops saved over the duration of its lifetime.

It’s nice to be celebrating the convenience of never scooping again.

SmartScale Pet Weight

The Whisker app also has SmartScale Pet Weight. This feature collects weight data and track your cats’ health over a period of time.

It’s so smart that it’s able to differentiate between both of my cats extremely accurately. Now, I’m able to track each cat’s health in the app.

Notifications Sent To Your Phone

The app notifies you about issues with the cycle and when to replace the filters and waste tray. You are able to see if the amount of clean litter in the unit, and track waste accumulation.

Manage all of these details on the home page. The Control tab also allows you to fully control the robot’s functions from anywhere with Wi-Fi!

Final Thoughts

I love the Litter-Robot 4 because I no longer have to scoop litter. My cats love it because they now always have clean and fresh litter to use!

Panther tends to make a mess in our regular litter boxes, and he’s loving it too! Having one that cleans after each use allows him to be less picky about using it. Storm loves it too, because he no longer has to worry about cleaning up after his brother!

It’s a true game-changer for cat owners looking for a hassle-free and efficient litter box solution. I know I’ve talked about all the pros of owning a Litter-Robot 4. I absolutely loved the more budget-friendly version 3 when I owned it, but I’m glad to make this upgrade. Litter-Robots are on the pricier side, but they definitely are worth the splurge.
