I am not kidding when I say I’ve made this recipe at least once a week for the whole month of May. It is savory, refreshing, healthy, and takes less than 20 minutes to make.
You NEED to give this Salmon with Miso Butter a try! The miso butter honestly tastes good with EVERYTHING; it is tangy, garlicky, and packed with umami flavors! The butter also keeps the salmon tender and juicy.
Pair it with rice, cucumber salad, or Bok Choy with Garlic Sauce. You will for sure be making this delicious Salmon with Miso Butter at least once a week!
With my wedding right around the corner, I’ve been incorporating HEALTHY yet DELICIOUS recipes for the past few months, and this Salmon with Miso Butter is one of my favorites!
The salmon is pan-fried to perfection, and the butter coats the salmon to ensure all the juices stay inside. I see alot of people often baking the salmon with butter; however, I love the pan fry method as the skin gets nice and crispy.
Pan-frying also cuts the cooking time in half. I add the butter last to ensure that every part of the salmon is evenly coated in the miso herb butter.
This miso butter tastes good with EVERYTHING, and you NEED to give it a try.
If you don’t eat meat or seafood, you can also use the miso butter on top of baked potatoes, mushrooms, or vegetables. I like to make miso butter in bulk, and I often put it on top of my baked Japanese Sweet Potato in the morning.
The butter lasts in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, but I promise it is so delicious you will finish it in a few days! All you need is butter, miso paste, garlic, lemon, and fresh dill. You can add any herbs of your choice, such as thyme, sage, or green onion.
Salmon with Miso Butter takes less than 20 minutes to make.
If you are like me, you can also make the miso butter in bulk so that you can have it for lunch in less than 15 minutes.
I always have side dishes ready in the fridge, such as Korean Marinated Eggs, Cucumber Salad, Bean Sprout Salad, Korean Spinach Salad, and Honey Garlic Potatoes. Making side dishes ahead of time can save alot of time preparing food throughout the week.

Ingredients
- 2 piece of Salmon
- Salt & pepper to season
Miso Butter
- 4 tbsp of Butter (unsalted)
- 1 tbsp of Miso Paste
- 2 tbsp of Fresh Dill (chopped)
- 1 Lemon Juice
- 1 tsp of Lemon zest
- 2 cloves of Garlic (grated)
Topping
- Sesame seeds
- Green Onion
- Mix room temperature butter, miso paste, fresh chopped dill, juice of 1 lemon, 1 tsp of lemon zest, and 2 cloves of grated garlic in a bowl. This can last in the fridge for up to 2 weeks; add as much miso butter you want on the salmon, and double the recipe if you’re going to make the butter in bulk.
- Pat dry the salmon and season with salt and pepper.
- In a pan, add in oil and turn the heat up to medium-high. Once the pan is hot, add in the salmon and pan fry for 3 minutes on each side.
- Add on your desire amount of miso butter, put the lid on, and let it cook for another 3 minutes or until cooked. This process helps “steam” the salmon, which cooks faster and keeps the salmon moist.
- Garnish with green onion and sesame seeds.
