What To Eat at Taiwan’s Karaoke Bar

If you ever come to Taiwan with a group, you have to check out these karaoke spots, or KTV, because they’re a hidden gem for yummy Taiwanese Food. They’re open 24/7, and great for a group of 3 or more. What’s better than delicious beef noodle soup, a few Taiwan Beers, and singing at the top of your lungs? Here’s everything I ate in while singing karaoke in Taiwan.
Taiwan’s 24 Hour Karaoke Bars
I’m back in Taiwan with my family. Today, we’re at Partyworld 錢櫃 , which is a 24 hour KTV chain all over Taiwan. Locals love karaoke, especially as an activity for a group of 4 or more people. For about NT$250–330 per person per hour (pricing also depends by location), the staff will get your group set up with your own karaoke room with AC. If you only know English songs, don’t worry, because they have a range of English songs you can choose from in their song list.
Why are karaoke bars so popular with locals? They’re actually also known for their restaurant-quality menu. Yes, you can order food AND sing your heart out! Their food is so popular that has its own cult following and yearly menu item ranking. Here’s everything I ate while singing karaoke in Taiwan!
Taiwan Beer
First things first, we’re cracking an iced cold Taiwan Beer. There’s nothing that screams Taiwanese karaoke night than Taiwan Beer. This beer is light, easy to drink, and not aggressively bitter, which means you can easily sip between songs. It pairs so well with all the classic KTV food options, like savory popcorn chicken, crispy fries, and even beef noodle soup!
Beef Noodle Soup
Partyworld 錢櫃 is most well known for their beef noodle soup. In fact, so much so, that some locals joke it’s a beef noodle soup shop with karaoke. So, of course we have to try a bowl. It comes with chewy noodles, savory beef broth, and chunks of super tender beef. I’m so surprised that it had such deep, beefy flavors and generous portions! Honestly, these were so yummy, we ended up ordering a second bowl right after because we were so impressed.
XO Sauce Dry Beef Noodles
I also got their XO Sauce dry mixed beef noodle. This dried noodle version of their beef noodle soup has the same yummy braised chunks of beef, mixed with a thinner, but still chewy wheat noodle. It’s seasoned with a spicy garlic XO sauce that not only packs a punch, but really tied everything in the bowl together. It’s another tasty and generous bowl of beef noodles to choose from, especially when it’s too hot for a whole bowl of soup.
Cabbage pork Dumpings
My personal favorite, however, was their cabbage pork dumplings. This is another must-eat item! Every order comes with 15 boiled dumplings served with a dish of garlic soy sauce for dipping. The wrappers have an amazing chew to it, and the fillings tasted really fresh. These were the perfect snack to share because they’re so easy to pop one into your mouth between songs. Pro tip, make sure to dip the dumplings in the beef soup, because it really makes the perfect flavor combo.
Fried Pork Chop Bento
I also got their Taiwanese fried pork chop bento, which is also voted a must-eat here! Each order comes with crispy pork chop on top of white rice, and 3 different side dishes. Today’s side dishes are stir-fried cabbage and carrots, some pickles, and a saucy mixed veggie. As a bento lover, this totally hit the spot and energized me before singing my heart out again.
