10 Minute Spicy Sesame Noodles that is creamy, spicy, savory, and vegetarian friendly! Popular street food dish from Taiwan is super easy to recreate at home with simple and affordable ingredients. Warning, once you give this a try, you may want to eat this every single day for lunch for the rest of this week because it is THAT good!
The key to a perfect Spicy Sesame Noodles dish is to have the BEST chili oil. Good news, I just shared my Homemade Chili Oil recipe that will blow your mind! I always have jars of my Homemade Chili Oil ready to go in my fridge because it will save you so much time, and I promise it is 100x better than any store-bought chili oil. If you don’t have sesame paste at home, you can also you tahini instead.
There are two ways of enjoying Spicy Sesame Noodles, either with hot noodles or with cold. I have it hot in the winter and cold in the summer. After you cook them, if you prefer cold noodles, soak them in ice water for 3 minutes and drain. Cold noodle meal preps well; you can have the sauce on the side and have Spicy Sesame Noodle to make the perfect meal-prep lunch! I find cucumber a MUST add ingredient because it provides freshness and the perfect crunchy texture to complement the creamy, spicy sauce. You can add shredded chicken, sliced carrots, crispy shallots, or any protein of your liking for other toppings.
I like to use wide-cut fresh noodles that I get from T&T Supermarket or Watson Brand Wide Noodles; however, if you don’t live near a local Asain grocery market, some of my favorite noodles include Wu-Mu Dry Noodle and Asha Foods Noodles (Linked).
