Roasted Sesame Salad Dressing: A Japanese Classic
This Roasted Sesame Salad Dressing is a classic Japanese salad dressing. The roasted sesame seeds and sesame oil gives it such a distinctly nutty flavor, and the rice vinegar adds a delightful tang. It’s a great balance of flavors atop any variety of greens. Sometimes, I also drizzle it on top of blanched veggies for a change.
I paired my salad this week with a delicious Honey Garlic Chicken Wing, and it’s such a satisfying meal! I’ve recently really been enjoying adding apples to my salad, and the flavors in this dressing really balances out the sweetness. You can make this salad dressing in bulk and keep in the fridge to enjoy anytime!

Extra Sesame Flavor in One Easy Step!
When i’m using roasted sesame seeds in a recipe, sometimes I love grinding them beforehand. Sesame seeds are full of healthy fats and nutrients are easier to absorb when crushed. After grinding, the sesame flavor gets super intense in your sesame salad dressing!
I usually use a mortar and pestle to grind my roasted sesame seeds. If you don’t have a mortar and pestle like I do, don’t worry! You can crush it in a resealable bag with a rolling pin, or a quick pulse in the food processor. Both methods should crush the seeds without leaving a mess.
