Chocolate Mochi Cake is SUPER easy to make at home, even if you suck at making desserts like me!
You will know I am not the biggest fan of making desserts if you know me. It is hard, filled with many steps, and you often don’t know if you will succeed until the end.
For this chocolate mochi cake, all you need is to mix everything and pop it in the air fryer, and that’s it!

Before diving into the recipe, let’s briefly touch on what makes air fryers special.
These innovative kitchen gadgets use hot air circulation to cook food, providing a similar crispy texture to traditional frying but with a fraction of the oil. By utilizing this efficient cooking method, you can transform your favorite dessert recipes into healthier alternatives without compromising on flavor!
My go-to Air Fryer is the COSORI air fryer. I did a did dive into the world of air fryers by comparing 10 of the most popular air fryer on the market and doing a crispy wing chicken test, and you can check out my blog post HERE.

We will be using Glutious Rice Flour for the Chocolate Mochi Cake.
Glutinous rice flour, also known as sticky rice flour or sweet rice flour, is derived from glutinous rice, which is a type of rice that contains more amylopectin than other rice varieties. This higher amylopectin content is responsible for the sticky and chewy texture that sets glutinous rice apart from regular long-grain rice.

One of the main reasons for glutinous rice flour‘s popularity is its versatility in both sweet and savory applications.
In desserts, it acts as a binding agent and imparts that signature chewy texture to various delicacies.
Sticky rice dumplings, sweet rice cakes, and popular treats like mochi all owe their delightful consistency to this enchanting flour. It is also gluten-free, which makes it an excellent alternative for those that have a gluten allergy.
