Extra Crispy Tofu drizzled in Spicy Garlic Sauce is my favorite way to enjoy tofu.
This tofu recipe is SO good that I promise even meat lovers like my husband is obsessed with my Crispy Spicy Garlic Tofu recipe.
The tofu is fried till perfect; it is crispy on the outside and JUICY on the onside. What makes the dish is my homemade spicy garlic sauce tastes good with EVERYTHING and is super addicting.
Give this Crispy Spicy Garlic Tofu recipe a try; you will love it!
I promise even meat lovers who don’t love tofu will love my Crispy Spicy Garlic Tofu. I am a firm believer that if you don’t love tofu, it is because you haven’t found the right recipe.
Tofu, compares to meat, is much easier to cook as you don’t have to worry about it “overcooking.”
It is also super versatile, and when cooked correctly, it tastes even better than meat since it is excellent at absorbing flavor.
I always have tofu in the fridge since it is an excellent source of protein, is fast to prepare, and lasts longer than meat!
The star of my Crispy Spicy Garlic Tofu is the addicting homemade sauce that is easy to make at home. The sauce is spicy, garlicky, tangy, and savory, the perfect sauce for everything.
This sauce is also ideal as a dumpling dipping sauce or a hotpot dipping sauce if you have extra.
You will need vegetarian oyster sauce, black vinegar, sugar, chopped green onion, minced garlic, sesame seeds, Korean red chili flakes, crushed cumin, cilantro, and hot oil.
The hot oil is a crucial step, as it “fries” all the ingredients and instantly levels up the flavor.
Crispy Spicy Garlic Tofu is vegetarian and also gluten-free.
One of my favorite starches to use is tapioca starch and sweet potato flour.
It is the same flour used for Taiwanese popcorn chicken and Taiwanese XL chicken patty.
Tapioca Starch and Sweet Potato Flour are gluten-free, and when deep-fried, it becomes light and crispy.
Quick tip, let the flour sit for an extra 5 minutes after frying to prevent it from falling off.
