Honey Garlic Chicken (20 Minutes!)

Who’s ready for some finger-licking good Honey Garlic Chicken?
20 minutes Honey Garlic Chicken has been one of my go-to recipes this month! Crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, you must try my Honey Garlic Chicken.
Not only is honey garlic chicken easy to make, but it also only requires simple-to-find ingredients! If you like it spicy, try adding a little bit of Korean red chili paste to give it an extra kick!

Nothing is better than Honey Garlic Chicken for a delicious weeknight dinner.
Easy, affordable, and made with accessible ingredients that you can find at your local supermarket. My secret to juicy chicken is always to use boneless chicken thighs with the skin on.
Watch my video on YouTube, where I share my step by step on how to de-bone a chicken thigh in less than 2 minutes!

All you need to make the perfect sticky Honey Garlic Chicken glaze is honey, garlic, butter, and the secret ingredient, a little bit of soy sauce.
The soy sauce adds umami flavour to the dish and helps balance out the sweetness from the honey. You can use gluten-free soy sauce if you have gluten sensitivity, as the rest of the dish is gluten-free.
For those that love spicy food, add around 1 tablespoon of Korean red chili paste to give it an extra kick!

I am using corn starch today to make Honey Garlic Chicken to keep the chicken gluten-free.
Other gluten-free flours you can use are tapioca starch and rice flour. The corn starch will help lightly coat the protect the chicken, ensuring the inside stays nice and crispy! All you need is a thin layer, dust off any excess, and that’s it!

Aloha Kakahiaka Tiff
The honey garlic chicken was to die for…I cater once a week for my niece’s CPA firm ( in exchange for doing my taxes, etc.) and they love it !!! Keep those delicious, quick, and budget sensitive dishes coming!!
PS.need a better way of finding your recipes (350+)…doing it by series doesn’t help, or by category… been trying to find Taiwanese pork chops for the longest time ! It’s not even in pork!!! Help!!!
I randomly decided to try this recipe since I had the ingredients on hand…
AND IT WAS SO GOOD!!! The chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy. The honey garlic sauce tasted like something from a restaurant, it had this nice sticky, sweet yet umami flavor to it that was so addicting.
So glad I decided to try this out. It was a simple dish to make and I will definitely be making it often.
This was truly delicious – not too soy-saucy like some recipes like this can be. It was crispy, sticky, and yum!
This was OUTSTANDING. I doubled down on the sauce mixture because I like “sauce on the rice.” OUTSTANDING. I used a garlic press to crush the garlic. Didn’t matter. Result? OUTSTANDING. This is a great recipe folks. You will not be disappointed.
I really liked this chicken recipe. I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts and cut in bite sized chunks. It worked great. Served with brown rice and roasted broccoli and I felt it was a healthy, quick dinner.
My family of 3 loves this meal, including our 2 year old! Easy and quick, better than getting take out. We up the measurements to make more sauce sometimes.
Hi Tiffy. Is there a way to tenderize the chicken, like marinade it? I usually cook extra and pack it for lunch the next day. However, it is noticably not as tender when newly cooked. TY
Delicious and quick! The combination of honey and garlic adds a perfect balance of sweetness and savory flavor to the chicken. The 20-minute cook time makes it an ideal recipe for busy weeknights. Thanks for sharing such a simple yet flavorful dish!
Omg… this recipe came out just like from a restaurant! We loved it! My 2 y/o daughter loved smelling the aroma in the kitchen while i was making it ❤️
I also have your cookbook and will be trying out more recipes. Thanks Tiff!
What soy sauce brand do you use with these recipes? I know you can use any but I was just curious !
I always like Lee Kum Kee Soy Sauce
Wow, this Honey Garlic Chicken recipe was incredible and so quick to make! I love how simple yet flavorful it is. For anyone looking for more quick chicken dinner, be sure to try this one. Happy cooking
Have made this several times and it is delicious every time! Plus it’s so simple and easy to make!
I usually use about 5 large garlic cloves instead of 10 garlic cloves. Tasty nonetheless.
What to do with leftover, plain chicken? Can you use it in this recipe?
I finally tried this recipe. What was I waiting for? Used boneless, skinless chicken along with tamari sauce. Yum-o. Served with mashed potatoes and broccoli. This is a keeper.
Amazing sauce and it was super easy!! The cornstarch makes the skin super crispy and delicious 😀 I’ve been recommending it to all my friends to try out.
Absolutely delicious. The chicken is moist and tender and the sauce has so much flavor.
This Honey Garlic Chicken recipe is an absolute game-changer! The perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors makes every bite irresistible. I love how the garlic enhances the rich honey glaze, creating a mouthwatering experience. Definitely adding this to my weekly menu—thank you for sharing such a delicious and easy-to-follow recipe!
Looks amazing!
Tiffy, i noticed ONE of your videos for this recipe adds 1T mirin. Do you prefer it with or without, and if with, is there a common pantry staple we could replace the mirin with?
can 16/20 size shrimp be substituted for chicken with same results?
Great recipe–quick, easy, and delicious!
This was the perfect weeknight dinner solution. I love that you can get such a flavorful sauce with just a few pantry staples. I’m definitely adding this to my meal plan for next week.
