Once you find out how simple it is to make Soy Sauce Chicken at home, you will be having this for chicken at least once a week!

My Soy Sauce chicken was inspired by Taiwanese Chicken Bento boxes you find at train stations.
The chicken is super flavorful and tender, while the skin is crispy. Chicken is marinated in the classic Taiwanese ingredients, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, five-spice powder, white pepper, and garlic.
Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes or overnight to ensure the chicken is tender and flavorful.

Air Fryer Soy Sauce Chicken was why I fell in love with my air fryer.
I will be the first to admit I was not a big fan of air fryers. Because I live in an apartment, I don’t like when my kitchen is overcrowded with large appliances.
However, when I started testing recipes, I instantly fell in love with my soy sauce chicken recipe.
The high heat fries the chicken skin until crispy while still keeping all the chicken juices.

Depending on the air fryer, you may need to watch to prevent the chicken from burning, as every air fryer is slightly different. If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake at 400F for 20 minutes.

Ingredients
- 2 Piece of Boneless Chicken Thigh (Skin On)
- 1.5 tbsp of Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp of Dark Soy Sauce
- ½ tbsp of Five Spice Powder
- 1 tsp of White Pepper
- 2 tsp of Sugar or honey
- 3 cloves of Garlic (minced)
SHOP THE INGRDIENTS
- Marinate the chicken with soy sauce, dark soy sauce, five-spice powder, white pepper, sugar , and minced garlic for 30 minutes
- Add in the chicken in the air fryer skin side facing up. Set the air fryer at 380F for 15 minutes

This was amazing! So much flavour and so juicy! This is definitely going on the rotation for my family!
The chicken was a bit too salty and spicy. I will try the recipe again next time with less soy sauce and half of the white pepper.
Delicious chicken but the skin(skin side up) was completely burned. I had pull it off and trash it. Loved the chicken meat though. I used 375 for 20 minutes on my Ninja Air Fryer.
