I got SO many DMs asking for my super easy 15-minute Butter Mushroom Rice recipe, so here it is!

Buttery, savory, and delicious 15 Minute Butter Mushroom Rice is one of my go-to recipes to make when I am craving something comforting.

Plus, the best part is that this butter mushroom rice recipe is also a ONE-POT DINNER recipe, so quick, delicious, and doesn’t require alot of dishes.

If you are a mushroom lover like me, you need to try this recipe.

This Butter Mushroom Rice will be your go-to recipe if you love mushrooms like me.

You can customize the mushroom-based on what is in season and what you have at home.

My go-to choices are oyster mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, and shemiji mushrooms.

Shiitake mushroom is the most flavorful mushroom and provides a “meaty” texture. If you are not vegetarian, you can also add some crispy bacon. 

Butter Mushroom Rice

The secret ingredient that makes this butter mushroom rice extra special is dashi powder.

Dashi powder provides alot of umami flavor and instantly transforms the dish.

A little goes a long way, and it is utilized in many recipes on my blog.

I like to use instant Dashi Powder, which you can purchase on Amazon or any Asian grocery store.

For vegetarians, vegetarian dashi powder is available made from Kombu, or you can also swap it for mushroom powder.

Every bite of mushroom is packed with so many umami flavors, plus you can prepare it all in an air-fryer, so you don’t even need to turn on the stove.

#2 Garlic Fried Mushroom (Gluten-Free)

Don’t get mad at me … but this garlic-fried mushroom recipe might taste better than fried chicken! Inspired by my viral Garlic Fried Chicken recipe, this Garlic Fried Mushroom recipe is GLUTEN-FREE and super easy to make at home!

#3 Ginger Glazed Oyster Mushroom (15 Minutes)

Affordable and healthy Ginger Glazed Oyster Mushroom is super easy to make at home and goes perfect with rice. You would think you were eating teriyaki scallops if you didn’t know!

#4 Japanese Mushroom Risotto – EXTRA CREAMY!

This mushroom risotto is rich, creamy, savory, and packed with umami flavors that will have you craving more. I know risotto may seem intimidating, but we will make it easy with a few simple ingredients and some secret tips. 

Butter Mushroom Rice

Ingredients 

  • 3 tbsp of Butter 
  • 2.5 cups of Rice (Cooked & Cooled) 
  • 3 cups of Mushrooms – shiitake, shemiji, and oyster mushrooms
  • 0.5 tsp of Black Pepper 
  • 1.5 tbsp of Soy Sauce 
  • Seaweed Powder 

Sauce: 

  • 2 tbsp of Soy Sauce 
  • 1 tsp of Sugar 
  • 1 tsp of Dashi Powder 
SHOP THE INGREDIENTS
  1. Add 2 tbsp of butter to a pan and turn the heat to medium-high. Once the pan is hot, add the mushroom and 1.5 tbsp of soy sauce, and 0.5 tsp of Black Pepper.  
  2. Saute the mushroom for 3-4 minutes or until fragrant. 
  3. Mix 2 tbsp of soy sauce, 1 tsp of sugar, and 1 tsp of Dashi Powder. 
  4. Add the rice, pour on the sauce, and saute on high heat for another 2-3 minutes. Make sure all the rice is coated in the sauce and butter. 
  5. Optional, but highly recommended, finish off with another 1 tbsp of butter, and saute on high heat for another 1 minute. 
  6. Garnish with seaweed powder and green onion, and enjoy! lo

Materials

  • 3 tbsp of Butter
