Reviewing 5 Bestseller Books I’ve Read For Book Club
One of my favorite hobbies is reading, and I’ve got a stack of books to prove it. If you didn’t know, I love book clubs, and I would love for you to join us! We’ve been reading quite a few New York Times Bestsellers, and I just wanted to share my thoughts (and hear from you!). Here’s my reviews of a few books we’ve recently read from my book club!

Read with Me and My Book Club!
If you know me, you know I always have a book with me. It’s my favorite way to unwind, relax, and spend sometime for myself. I also LOVE discussing these books. This week, I share with you a book club session with my sister and friends. We have our book clubs monthly, and we take turns hosting and picking our next books!

The Perfect Child – Lucinda Berry (3.75/5)
Our first book is The Perfect Child by Lucinda Berry. This is a thriller that really reminds me of Orphan, the movie. It’s definitely a super super good page turner, because I finished it in less than 3 days. I personally find the story line a little bit predictable, but it’s still very very very entertaining. Trigger warning: it’s very graphic in detail. If you’re not into more intense thrillers, I don’t recommend this book. But, if you’re looking for something creepy and entertaining, give it a try!

Betting on You – Lynn Painter (5/5)
The next book is Betting on You by Lynn Painter. She is actually one of my favorite authors! Her romcoms are always super cute and cheesy, and feels like you’re watching a fun K-drama.. I always prefer her books more than their movie renditions. I finished this in less than a day on my flight from Vancouver to Singapore, and I couldn’t put it down.

Love, Theoretically – Ally Hazelwood (4/5)
Next, I read Love, Theoretically by Ally Hazelwood, another New York Times bestseller. This book is really fast paced! It’s a romcom that’s a little bit spicy, so if that’s not appropriate for you, don’t read this one. I love the character development of both leads, but I got a bit bored and lost in the middle. Overall, it was a really cute book to read. I finished it in two days, starting on my flight from Vancouver to Taiwan, so it’s definitely still a page turner!

Funny Story – Emily Henry (5/5)
The next book is Emily Henry’s Funny Story. I’ve read every single one of Emily Henry’s books. My favorite one is Book Lovers, but now Funny Story may be my favorite! I swear her books are just getting better and better and better each time. She has the ability to make you truly fall in love with the characters. The storytelling of character development, and how that affects relationships, friendships, family, and career was perfect. I finished this page turner in less than 3 days!

Business Casual – B.K. Borison (3/5)
Last but not least is Business Casual by B.K. Borison, which is our book club reading for today! At first, I felt like the story was rushed a bit fast. I didn’t feel like I got a chance to really get to know the characters. I didn’t realize until later that this book is actually the last part of a 4-part series. You can read it on its own, but you’ll have a much more complete story if you start the series from the beginning. In fact, I think I may go back to read the series from the beginning.
