Your New Favorite Way To Cook Chicken Wings
I used all chicken wings flats for this batch of spicy chicken wings because they’re just easier to pan-fry. However, drumettes or a mix of both work just as well. Chicken wings are great for this kind of pan-fried dish. They’re affordable, super flavorful from the skin and bone, and stay juicy even with high heat.
If you don’t want to use chicken wings, boneless chicken thighs or tofu can also work. They hold up to the marinade and sear nicely in the pan, just make sure they are all evenly sized!

Southeast Asian Inspired Marinade Just Like Thai Restaurants
This marinade is what gives these Thai-style wings their signature salty-sweet, umami-packed flavor. It’s a classic but simple Southeast Asian mix of soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Together they bring that bold flavor you’d find in at a Thai restaurant.
Let the wings sit for at least 20 minutes so they have time to soak it all in. They’d be perfectly fine prepped ahead the night before as well. Once the wings hit the pan, the marinade clings to the skin and cooks down into a sticky soy glaze.

Toss with Extra Addicting Lime, Chili, and Aromatics
Once the wings are nearly done, you’ll toss in chopped garlic, Thai chilies, and shallots straight into the pan. Then, add a squeeze of lime juice and toss the wings. This coats the wings in that bold, spicy-sour mix of spices you often get in Thai street food and restaurants.
You absolutely can’t skip this step if you want to recreate that super addicting restaurant-style flavor. The garlic, chili, and shallots fry up and cling to the wings, so every bite has little bits of flavor and texture. The lime at the end cuts through the richness and brightens up the whole bite. You’ll be reaching for another wing right away!

So easy and tons of flavor. The whole family enjoyed these with fried rice. Will definitely make these frequently!
I didn’t have wings so I made it with chicken thighs instead. Omg this was so delicious I definitely need to try with wings next time. This will be one of my go to dinners.
My first time cooking wings this way. Surprisingly easy though I’m not a frequent cook, and tasted great!
