Air Fryer Miso Mayo Glazed Salmon
If you want to impress someone, you need to try my Air Fryer Miso Mayo Glazed Salmon! Guaranteed success every single time, this Air Fryer Miso Glazed Salmon is my go-to recipe for weeknight dinners. Tender salmon coated in a savory umami miso sauce, I promise even if you are a beginner cook, you will be able to make my Air Fryer Miso Mayo Glazed Salmon at home.

Air Frying Miso Mayo Salmon
I was blown away by how delicious this Air Fryer Miso Glazed Salmon was that I made it every day for a week! Unlike cooking salmon in a pan, an air fryer can control the temperate. Therefore if cooked correctly, it guarantees tender and perfect salmon every time.
Plus, this air fryer recipe is perfect for you if you are like me and hate doing dishes and cleaning the whole stove after making salmon from all the oil splatter.
PRO-TIP: If you want to save time doing dishes, you can place the parchment paper underneath, so no dishes are needed!

Miso Mayo Salmon Ingredients
- 2 pieces Salmon, skin on around 5-7 oz each
- 1.5 tablespoons white miso paste
- 1 tablespoon Mirin or Honey
- 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
- 0.5 tablespoon dashi powder
- 1 pinch black pepper
- 3 tablespoon Japanese Mayo
Nobu-Inspired Miso Mayo Marinade
The famous Nobu restaurant inspires this Air Fryer Miso Glazed Salmon Recipe. Whenever I walk into Nobu, I am welcomed by torched Mayo’s smokey and umami smell.
After many attempts at recreating the famous Miso Black Cod, here is my version that is easy and simple to make at home. All you need is miso paste, mirin or honey, soy sauce, dashi powder, black pepper, and Japanese Mayo. Marinate the fish for at least 30 minutes or overnight.

Japanese Mayo
My secret tip for SUPER tender salmon with a crispy umami crust is Japanese Mayo.
I HIGHLY recommend using Japanese Mayo for this recipe. While you can substitute for American Mayo, Kewpie Mayo is a STABLE item in my kitchen.
Because it provides the ultimate umami flavor, you can’t find in American Mayo. Below are the main difference between American Mayo and Japanese Mayo.
- First, Japanese Mayo is made with ONLY the yolk, which gives it richer flour and a custard-like texture.
- Second, No Salt and other seasoning are added except for MSG, which provides its umami flavor!
- Lastly, Japanese Mayo is made with Rice Vinegar, giving it a sweeter tang than American Mayo.

How To Make Miso Mayo Salmon
- First, mix Japanese mayo, soy sauce, miso paste, mirin, dashi powder, and black pepper.
- Coat the top of the salmon with the mayo mixture (not the side with the skin), marinate for 30 minutes or overnight
- Line the air fryer with parchment paper, or spray it with oil. Place the salmon skin side facing down.
- Air fry at 400F for 10-11 minutes. ENJOY!

This was really good
Easy and healthy! I love the modern Asian cuisine.
Hello!
Can I make this in the oven instead of an air fryer?
Hi Michelle, Yes, you can! I have a similar recipe here: Salmon with Miso Butter (20 Minutes)
So good and so easy! Have made this 5x since discovering the recipe last week 2 weeks ago lol thanks sis!
This salmon was so good! My husband and I enjoyed it, as well as Max, my cat lol I wished I marinated it longer than 30 minutes but it was still good. Thanks for sharing this recipe!
I loved it but found it a bit too salty. Any idea what made it salty
Hi Janelle, glad you love the recipe! If its a bit salty, you can adjust the amount of soy sauce or miso.

Hello! Just found this fantastically easy looking recipe and I can’t wait to try it! I currently only have skinless salmon fillets. Will it work too? Any adjustments I need to make? Thank you!
Hi Carmen, Yes, it will work with skinless salmon fillets!

What sides do you suggest serving it with?
Hi! Is there a chance I can use regular miso instead of white miso?
Hi Tiffany! Yes, you can use regular miso.

Have made this twice so far, boyfriend loves it and ask for this salmon constantly! Wondering if I can use a different fish like tilapia? Just don’t have any salmon on hand but bunch of tilapia. Thanks!
Hi Bilqis! Yes, you can definitely use this recipe with other fish. Tilapia is thinner than a cut of Salmon, so it may not need as much time in your air fryer.

Made it for the first time tonight. Sadly, the “top” was a bit too crispy, thus taking away the miso flavor. I will be sure to adjust cooking time a bit the next time I do it. I ran it at 400 Air Fry for 11min. I also plan to let it marinate overnight so it really soaks it up. Very easy to make with a few ingredients. I can tell this will be a new easy dinner for my hubby and I.
