Deep Frying: Great for Cook In Bulk

Forย large social gatherings or making in bulk, I love choosing aย deep fried dish. It takes less time to cook, and I can make more at once. Of course, deep frying also guarantees a delightful crunch. Who doesn’t love fried foods and beers at a party?

Cleaning Up With Minimal Mess After Deep Frying

What do you do with the oil after you finish deep frying? Don’t pour it down the drain, or it’ll clog your pipes. You can strain the oil and reuse it for cooking other dishes. Or, throw it away by pouring it into a separate container and putting it in the trash.

I used to avoid deep frying because the cleanup was so messy, but I’ve actually found a solution: Fry Away. The Fry Away mixes with the frying oil to create a solid chunk that you just toss into the trash. It’s super easy!

Fry Away solidifies cooking oil into biodegradable waste you can pick up and throw away.

Breading Before Frying For Extra Crispiness

For a perfectly crispy breading when deep frying, you can use panko,ย Sweet Potato Flour,ย Corn starch, orย tempura powder. If you are a beginner chef, I recommend using panko, since it’s the easiest to fry.

The secret to making breading stick is to always let the starch sit for 5 minutes before frying. This extra step prevents the coating from falling off by allowing the starch to become sticky from the surface moisture from the food.

Depending on how spicy, salty, and garlicky you want your end results to be, you can adjust these seasoning measurements to your liking.

Double Fry For Extra Crispiness

I’ve talked about how adding breading or batter can add to crispiness, but there’s more. To make your fried food crispier, double fry them! What is double frying? Double frying is when you fry twice, first at a lower temperature then a higher one. The first stage cooks the food, while the second crisps it up. This method is best for studier foods that don’t over cook or fall apart. It gives your fried foods and extra crispy texture that lasts fresher longer.
