Matcha Latte with Blueberry Jam
Make Asian Cafe Fruity Matcha Lattes At Home
The blueberry matcha latte is my favorite summer twist on my usual morning matcha latte. It still gives me that boost of focus and calm to start the day, but the sweet and tangy homemade blueberry syrup makes it feel lighter and more refreshing, especially in hot weather. The balance of earthy matcha, creamy milk, and bright blueberries reminds me of the kinds of drinks you’d find at Asian matcha cafes or boba shops, and it’s easy to make at home with just a few ingredients.

Blueberry Matcha Latte Ingredients
Homemade Blueberry Jam
- 5 cups fresh blueberries
- 2.5 cups water
- ¾-1 cup sugar adjust depending on sweetness of berries
- 1-2 tsp fresh lemon juice optional, brightens flavor
Blueberry Matcha Latte
- 2 tbsp blueberry syrup smooth or with pulp
- 1 tsp matcha powder
- 2 oz hot water ~175°F / 80°C
- ¾ cup milk of choice oat, almond, dairy, etc.
- Ice

Homemade Blueberry Jam You’ll Use For Everything
This blueberry jam or syrup recipe is one of my favorite ways to use fresh blueberries, especially when they’re in season and just tart enough to balance out the sugar. They’re also naturally high in antioxidants and vitamin C, so you’re getting a little immune boost with every spoonful.
To store, keep in a sealed container in the fridge for up to two weeks. It’s so easy to make once and use all week long.

Add Variety With Different Texture Or Flavors
What I love about this recipe is how adaptable it is. Depending on how you strain it, the same batch can give you 3 different textures: a smooth syrup, a thick jam, or something in between. I usually make both syrup and jam every batch.
You can absolutely use frozen berries too. They’ll take a little longer to cook and tend to be sweeter. Or, add other fruits, herbs, or berries for creative flavors, like strawberries and blackberries for wildberry mix.

Try This Blueberry Syrup or Jam in These Easy Healthy Recipes
This fruity homemade condiment goes with so many different recipe The syrup is perfect for making your favorite blueberry drinks, like Blueberry Chia Lemonade or over Cottage Cheese Pancakes, while the unstrained, pulpy jam is great with chia coconut pudding or on top of my yogurt bowls.

My Favorite Matcha Powder
Matcha adds just the right earthy contrast to the sweetness of the blueberry syrup in this drink, and is my favorite pick-me-up right now. I use Ippodo Tea, a ceremonial grade matcha, because it has a vibrant color and smooth, clean flavor that blends beautifully without overpowering.
To prepare it, I whisk it with a small amount of hot water using my at home Matcha set. This helps create a silky smooth matcha that pours easily over the milk and holds its layer.

Add Milk for a Beautiful Layered Matcha Latte
You can use any kind of milk for this blueberry matcha latte: whole milk, non-fat, almond, oat, whatever you keep in the fridge. I personally love using Oatly Oat Milk because it gives the drink a creamier, rounder flavor that works really well with both the sweet blueberry syrup and earthy matcha.
If you like it on the sweeter side, I sometimes mix in a little sugar or simple syrup into the milk with a hand frother before layering in matcha and jam.

How To Make Blueberry Matcha Latte
- In a small saucepan, combine 5 cups fresh blueberries, 2.5 cups water, and ¾-1 cup sugar over medium heat. Stir and bring to a gentle boil.

More Summery Drinks That Remind Me Of Boba Shops

Mine came out less of a syrup and more of a juice. Not sure what I did wrong but the flavor is good.
Happened to me too! What did we do wrong?
Hi J, sometimes super fresh blueberries have a higher water content. If you’re finding your jam coming out a little watery, try giving it 10 more minutes on the simmer to reduce. Or, try reducing the added water in the very beginning. Let me know if that works!
