Breakfast Yogurt Bowl with Easy Warm Blueberry Jam

A yogurt bowl is such an easy healthy breakfast that I can whip up in 5 minutes and enjoy every single morning. But the best part is that every morning’s bowl can be so, so different from each other. I’ve shared a few different bowls before, from the simple peanut butter granola bowl to the Chocolate Shell Raspberry bowl. Today, I’m sharing another easy one you can put together with simple freezer and pantry ingredients!

I made this Breakfast Yogurt Bowl as part of my Healthy Breakfast Spread this week, along with a bowl of Vegetable Miso Soup, some hot rice, and kimchi. This Greek yogurt bowl comes all my favorite toppings: fresh figs, homemade granola, cacao nibs, and the fastest blueberry jam that only needs the microwave! It’s the easiest way make a warm, fruity topping in a ridiculously short amount of time. If you’re usually not a fan of yogurt bowl because they’re too cold for the mornings, this is the bowl for you!

Ingredients For Blueberry Chia Yogurt

  • ½ cup Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp sweetener of choice optional — I like honey
  • 2 fresh figs sliced
  • Granola as desired
  • Cacao nibs or any toppings you like
  • Extra honey for drizzling, optional

3 Minute Blueberry Chia Jam

Adding my quick microwave blueberry chia jam is now a new favorite way for me to enjoy my yogurt bowls. It takes just 1 minutes in the microwave and 2 ingredients to make! I use frozen blueberries and chia seeds to create a naturally thick, jammy topping that’s sweet, tart, and packed with antioxidants and blueberry flavor with no added sugar. It adds a deliciously warm, fruity layer to creamy yogurts and desserts. The chia seeds naturally thicken the berries while adding extra fiber and healthy fats, making this an easy way to pack even more nutrition into your breakfast.

Toppings For Yogurt BOwl

The best part about breakfast yogurt bowls is that you can literally customize it to include all of your favorite toppings. Here are my favorite yogurt bowls topping options:

  • Fresh Fruit: Anytime I find fresh fruits at the market, they’re going on my yogurt bowls. They add natural sweetness, fiber, and a juicy contrast to the creamy yogurt. I’m using figs today, but I also love other fruits like strawberries, mangoes, kiwis, and more.
  • Granola: Granola adds crunch and makes the bowl more filling, especially when it includes ingredients like nuts, seeds, and whole grains. It’s especially helpful when I’m following my seed cycling routine! My favorite is my homemade Peanut Butter chocolate chip granola, which is so easy to make!
  • Cacao Nibs: These crushed, roasted cacao beans add a chocolatey flavor while giving a small boost of fiber and nutrients.
  • Sweetener: This an easy way to add sweetness while complementing the tanginess of plain yogurt and more sour fruits like kiwi. I like using honey, but you can also use maple syrup, agave, or date syrup.

Instructions

  1. Add the frozen blueberries to a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds to 1 minute, or until softened and juicy.
  2. Mash the blueberries slightly, then stir in the chia seeds. Microwave for another 30 seconds, mix well, and let sit for about 2 minutes. The chia seeds will absorb the liquid and turn the blueberries into a quick, thick jam.
  3. Assemble your yogurt bowl with the Greek yogurt, sliced figs, warm blueberry chia jam, granola, and cacao nibs.
  4. Finish with a drizzle of honey and enjoy!
